Quartet

Bringing together four distinctive musicians from the Leeds jazz scene, the Quartet is led by Alec on piano and features Ben Lowman on tenor sax, John Marley on bass and Steve Hanley on drums.

 

The band is a showcase for new melody-driven original compositions by Alec which take their influences from artists as diverse as Abdullah Ibrahim, John Taylor, Tord Gustavsen and Herbie Hancock.

 

Added to this mix are renditions of well known Songbook repertoire and covers of more obscure musical gems, to produce a stylistically-varied and unique programme of music.
