Teaching Experience

During my time as a music teacher I have taught the piano at Wetherby High School, St Joseph’s Primary School (Wetherby), the Yorkshire School of Music (Saltaire), Horsforth Music Centre (Leeds) and Rossett School in Harrogate (I am a long-standing member of teaching staff for the latter two organisations, since 2007 and 2009 respectively)Beyond this, I teach in a self-employed capacity on a private one-to-one basis. This role has brought me into contact with individuals from every walk of life, with ages ranging from 5 to 75 years, and has involved me covering a huge spectrum of musical subject matter, from introducing complete beginners to the keyboard, mentoring more advanced players, helping individuals build and expand their repertoire, training and entering students for the ABRSM exams, and teaching the fundamentals of improvisation.

I consider Continued Professional Development to be vital to my role as a musician and educator, and so am regularly involved in educational and safeguarding training and seminars. Below is a list of my musical, educational and academic qualifications.
